“It was awesome,” said Falls City head coach Steve Marbach “The Beaver fans are very supportive. It added to an already exciting game.”
With their defense pitching a second half shutout, the Beavers defeated the Eagles by the score of 30-22 and improve to 2-0 in District 14-1A Division II.
“I couldn’t be prouder of the guys,” said Marbach. “For the guys to go out and execute was fantastic.”
Scoring for the Beavers were Cameron Soto, who had a passing touchdown, a rushing touchdown, two two-point conversion passes and a two-point conversion run, Austen Camber, who caught Soto’s passing score, Phillip Lyssy, who had two rushing touchdowns, Royce Leonhardt, who caught one conversion, and Cody Jendrusch, who caught another conversion.
Statistically, the Beavers had 355 yards of total offense, with 143 yards passing over 11 completions and 211 yards rushing over 30 carries.
This week, the Beavers will travel to Louise to face the Hornets, who utilized their running game and defeated Pettus in their last contest.
“That’s the main thing, trying to slow down their running,” said Marbach. “We’re going to have to execute our defensive game plan and tackle well.”
Kickoff in Louise is set for Friday, November 2 at 7:30 p.m.
