Polls open Tuesday for general election

BEEVILLE — Early voting ended Friday at the courthouse and officials are gearing up for Tuesday’s General Election.

Voting runs 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at all polling location.

Below are the voting locations for the Precincts in Bee County.

Pct. 1 — Former Bee County Library meeting room, 210 E. Corpus Christi St., Beeville, 78102.

Pct. 2 — Mineral Baptist Church, Hwy. 673, Mineral, 78125.

Pct. 3 — Beeville Doctor’s Building, 301 S. Hillside Dr., Beeville, 78102.

Pct. 4 — Papalote Fire Station, Hwy. 181 S. and FM 134, Papalote, 78387.

Pct. 5 — Pettus Community Center/Fire Station, Corner of Main and Bee streets, Pettus, 78146.

Pct. 6 — Skidmore Fire Station, 421 E. Refugio St., Skidmore, 78389.

Pct. 8 — Normanna Fire Station, Corner of Bee and Main streets, Normanna, 78142.

Notable local races

District Attorney

José Aliseda, on the Republican ticket, is running uncontested.

Martha Warner, who current serves as district attorney, is not running.

County attorney

Incumbent Mike Knight, a Democrat, will face Juan Eduardo Garcia from the Republican party.

Sheriff

Incumbent Carlos Carrizales Jr., a Democrat, will face Bill Lazenby, a Republican.

County commissioner

Incumbent Eloy Rodriguez, a Democrat, will face Dennis D. Phipps, a Republican.

National & state

Presidential

Incumbent President Barack Obama, Democrat, will face Republican Mitt Romney. Also running are Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson and Jill Stein of the Green Party.

State Representative, District 43

Incumbent Rep. J.M. Lozano, a Republican, will face Yvonne Gonzalez Toureilles, former state representative, a Democrat.

State Senator

Longtime incumbent Sen. Judith Zaffirini, a Democrat, will face Grant Rostig, a Republican, along with Joseph Morse, a Libertarian.
