Vice President Margie Pierce reported on the Texas Association of Hospital Volunteers District meeting held in Fredricksburg in October. Six OKMH Auxiliary members attended. All found the meeting to be very informative and they enjoyed meeting members of other auxiliaries and sharing our differing experiences.
Ways and Means Chairman Patsy Marchant presented the final results of the Fall Jewelry Sale. A successful endeavor thanks to the many shoppers who turned out.
Another major topic of discussion is the Tamale Sale scheduled to be held on Friday, Nov. 16. Tamales will be sold on a first come/first served basis at $8.00 per dozen with regular and spicy flavors available. If you would like to pre-order/reserve your tamales, you may call or come by the Gift Shop, 583-4507 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tamales should be arriving at the hospital lobby at approximately 8 a.m. Friday morning. Come and get ‘em while they’re hot!
Don’t forget to take a chance on the quilt being raffled. The quilt is approximately 55”x 65” and features a variety of embroidered Jacobean Birds on floral branches on a pale sage green tone-on-tone background. It even has scalloped edges. Tickets are $1 each or 6 tickets for $5. The drawing will be held during the Tamale Sale.
And last, but not least, Monday, Nov. 12, begins the Gift Shop Christmas Sale. Everything (except food items, purses and quilts) will be reduced 25%. There are jewelry, toys, decorative and Christmas items and so much more available. It’s a great opportunity to get that early holiday shopping done. Plus, we’d rather sell it than count it during the end-of-year inventory!
As always, all proceeds from these or any of our fund-raising efforts directly benefit the Otto Kaiser Memorial Hospital. We thank you in advance for your continued support of auxiliary efforts.
Our next business meeting will be Thursday, Dec. 6 at 9:30 a.m. in the Hospital Board Room.
