Relay For Life team registration is now open to anyone who is interested in participating in the 2013 event, which will be held on April 26 at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

Despite the setback of having to reschedule the 2012 event, Bee County had a successful season. An incredible $65,000 was raised for the American Cancer Society; there was an increase in teams and survivors registered; also, Relay For Life Bee County was recognized at The High Plains Division Summit in Dallas for the “Relay Big, Why Not?” category. Bee County was one of five relays in the High Plains Division recognized for streaming the entire 12-hour event live on USTREAM.

The theme of this year’s event is “Think Big, Hope Big, Relay Big.” This year’s committee is excited for the upcoming event and has a lot of great things in store for this year’s teams as well as the community.

Today (Saturday), the 2013 Relay committee will hold a Community Blitz in the parking lot of College North Shopping Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for anyone interested in participating in Relay For Life or who would to like to learn more about relay. Also available will be baked goods, small gifts and the opportunity to win a Christmas Stocking Stuffer basket valued at $200.
