Violet McDonnel, 68, of Conroe, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009. She was a professional seamstress. She worked as a licensed dietician for the Spring School District and was working in sales at the time of her death.

She was born June 7, 1941, to Cyril and Annie Mae Orsak in Houston.

McDonnel is preceded in death by her parents, two infant sons, Francis Alfred McDonnel Jr. and Cyril Thomas McDonnel and one 15-year-old daughter, Violet McDonnel II.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Francis A. McDonnel, one daughter, Anna Hanson and husband Lee; one son, Robert McDonnel; two sisters, Veronica and husband Neil Jennings and Rosemary Schmidt; three grandsons, Donald, Eric, and Matthew Hanson; numerous nieces and nephews; sister-in-law Annette and husband Dennis Woods of Woodsboro; brother-in-law Jack and wife Phylisia McDonnel of Victoria.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Friday, March 13, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Ctholic Church in Conroe, with the Rev. Christopher Plant as Celebrant.

Burial was in Garden Park Cemetery in Conroe.

Pallbearers were Lee Hanson, Donald Hanson, Eric Hanson, Glen Powell, Rod Goodall and Bill Williams Jr.
