He was born June 26, 1932 to Benencio and Josefa Lara.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, his wife Juanita Lara; two sons Bernardo and Joseph David Lara.
Survivors include one daughter, Susanne Lara of Refugio; four sons Martin(Gloria) Lara of New Braunfels, Antonio Jr. (Rosemary) Lara of Refugio, Pablo (Christina) Lara of Norfolk, Virg. and Juan Lara of Refugio; three sisters Rosa Vega of California, Petra Lara of Kingsville and Tomasa Pardo of Victoria; and three brothers, Jose Lara of Refugio, Euginio Lara of Refugio, Juan Lara of Refugio; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren
Pallbearers were Antonio Lara, Robert Heard, Christopher Ruiz, Guadalupe Solis Jr., Ben Lara and Ray Lara.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 26, at Moore Funeral Home Chapel.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 27, at St. James Catholic Church.
Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Refugio.
