GOLIAD – Interim Goliad City Administrator Larry Zermeno was disappointed but not surprised by the resignation tendered last week by Goliad Community and Economic Development Director Bridgette Bise.

As was first reported by the Advance-Guard at mySouTex.com, Bise handed in her resignation on Jan. 2. Bise had been placed on a 90-day performance improvement plan by city council on Nov. 20.

“I want every employee to be

successful here,” Zermeno said. “She didn’t like the turn of events that occurred. It was unpleasant for her.”

Zermeno said Monday the city had not advertised the position.

“I have some different suggestions from council about what to do with the position,” Zermeno said. “I just want to make sure I communicate with them first.”

Bise was hired in January 2012 and began work Feb. 1. She left the Victoria Convention and Visitors Bureau in June 2011.
