LONDON — A New Year’s Day participating in London, England’s parade celebrating the new year is a once-in-a-lifetime thrill and memory for one of the Beeville Trojans’ cheerleaders.

Squad captain senior Samantha Navarro earned the All-American status at a summer camp held and sponsored by National Cheerleaders Association and was invited to represent the Trojans and the United States of America in the annual parade.

Navarro tried out for the prestigious honor beginning in her sophomore year when she was captain of the Trojan JV squad. She made it as a senior and earned the exciting trip to London.

“Her dad and I promised to do our very best to send her when it was her senior year. The All-American Cheerleaders participate in the London parade on New Year’s Day and are among hundreds of other All-American Cheerleaders from all over the United States representing the USA by wearing their red, white and blue uniforms,” said Ann Ramirez, Samantha’s mother.

“It is a chance of a lifetime, and we are all so very proud of her.”

The cheerleaders were in London for six days and got to visit several sites of interest, including Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, Westminster Abby and Carnaby Street.

The cheerleaders boarded their flights for home on Jan. 2 with memories that will last them a lifetime.

Samantha is the daughter of A.J. and Ann Ramirez and Samuel Navarro, all of Beeville.
