Joe and Olivia Ramirez of Beeville are pleased to announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their son, Joe Ramirez Jr., to Quera Ann Voelkel, daughter of Daniel and Teresa Abshire of Beeville.

The bride-elect is a 2004 graduate of A.C. Jones High School and a 2010 graduate of Everest Institute, where she earned her degree as a medical assistant. She is currently employed as a sleep study technician/clerk with Comprehensive Sleep Medicine Association in Houston. She is the granddaughter of Tommy and Jesusa Proffitt of Beeville.

The prospective groom is also a 2004 graduate of A.C. Jones High School. He graduated from Universal Technical Institute as an auto technician in 2006 and is currently employed as a master technician for Mercedes-Benz in Sugar Land. He is the grandson of Johnny and Mary Ramirez and Janie Treviño and Audelio “JR” Benavides, all of Beeville.

The couple plan to wed Saturday, April 20, at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
