The Kenedy Chamber of Commerce is seeking candidates for this year's Bluebonnet Day's Queen Pageant to be held at the Kenedy High School Auditorium on April 19. Do you think you have what it takes to represent your community? Are you interested in a chance to receive a scholarship? If so, this is a great opportunity for you. The Kenedy Chamber of Commerce will be awarding three scholarships to our 2013 Bluebonnet Days Queen and her court this year. A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to the 2013 Bluebonnet Days Queen, a $750 scholarship will be awarded to the 1st runner up and a $500.00 scholarship will be awarded to the 2nd runner up. In addition The Kenedy Chamber of Commerce has included a "Jr. Miss" category this year.

Applications will be distributed to all three campuses early next week with a deadline of March 1. Applications may also be picked up at our new Kenedy Chamber of Commerce office located at 205 South Second Street, Kenedy. Office Hours are 8:30 a.m. -5:30 p.m. phone: 830-583-3223.

Competition is open to the following: Little Mr. & Miss Bluebonnet 2013: child must be enrolled at Kenedy I.S.D. in Kindergarten or 1st grade. Jr. Miss Bluebonnet Pageant 2013: all contestants must be girls in grade levels 6th thru 8th, single with no dependents and presently enrolled in Kenedy Middle School. Miss Bluebonnet Day 2013 - All contestants must be girls enrolled at Kenedy High School with zero dependents. All contestants must have a satisfactory passing grade point average in order to participate.

Contestants will be judged on western wear, dress-up attire, impromptu question, most photogenic and an informal judges interview.
