Effective Friday, Feb. 15, the burn ban in Bee County has been lifted.

“Due to recent rains, mild weather allowing for green growth and consulting with various sources to include the fire chiefs of Bee County, the recommendation was made to lift the burn ban,” said Robert Bridge, emergency management coordinator. “We continue to ask that residents notify the Bee County Sheriff’s Department before conducting any burns and to use an abundance of caution to avoid any mishaps.”

Bridge requested earlier this week that the ban be dropped, and Bee County Judge David Silva agreed and signed the request, making it official.
