The March meeting of the Rosetta Club, held at the Beeville Country Club on March 12, was called to order by President Jackie Hughes, who also thanked all the hostesses.

Other officers present were Connie Hatfield, first vice president; Jodi Huegler, second vice president; Beau O’Brien, third vice president; Margie Awalt, corresponding secretary; and Liz Dehnert, treasurer.

Mary Kathryn O’Brien gave the invocation.

Molly Young introduced the speaker, Crystal Farris, from the Beeville Art Museum. Since 2001, Ms. Farris has been the education director at the museum. She has exhibited her own works, including acrylics and, more recently, watercolors.

As education director, Ms. Farris offers programs to students of all ages, both during the school year and summer camps. Since the museum has only two employees, Ms. Farris depends on community volunteers, teens and adults to help with all the different programs. The Beeville Art Museum is totally funded by the Joe Barnhart Foundation.

Leticia Muñoz spoke about the library fund-raiser. Diana Barrios, a well-known chef, will have a cooking demonstration followed by a luncheon. All 20 luncheon tables will be decorated table scapes with a book theme.

Ms. Muñoz asked that all ticket sales or unused tickets be turned in by March 31. An accurate accounting of ticket sales is needed to make sure everyone has a seat. Please make sure Jodi has a listing of all guests’ names as there will be assigned tables and seating. There are 17 confirmed decorated tables. A list was passed around for volunteers to sign up for setting up and taking down the fund-raiser activities.
