The Goliad ISD will celebrate Public Schools Week March 4-8.

This year’s theme is “Public Schools Rock.” All parents and guardians of Goliad ISD and the rest of the community are invited to visit GISD campuses. Visitors must sign in at the campus’ central office.

Following is the schedule for each campus:

Goliad Elementary School

March 1-7 - Book Fair

March 6 - Family Night, 4-7 p.m., GES/GIS Library; Grades K-3 parent/guest readers to classrooms

March 4-8 - Parents/grandparents welcome to eat lunch with children

March 5-6 - Third-graders practice STAAR tests (no classroom visits during testing); Gifted and Talented “Eggs to Chick Project” (chicks hatching)

March 7 - Head Start “Breakfast with Grandparents,” 8:30 a.m., GIS cafeteria

March 8 - Head Start “Getting Moving with Dad”

Goliad Intermediate School

March 1-7 - Book Fair

March 6 - Family Night, 4-7 p.m., GES/GIS Library

March 4-5 & 8 - Visitor’s days 

March 6-7 - Benchmark testing (no visitors)

Goliad Middle School

March 5-6 - Benchmark testing (no classroom visits during testing)

March 6 - Parent reception, 11:20 a.m.-12:45 p.m., GMS Library

March 8 - GMS track and field meet at Tiger Stadium
