GOLIAD – The Goliad County Livestock Show began Thursday at 1 p.m. with the junior commercial heifer and broiler judging.

Turkey judging was scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. and be followed by the rabbit judging at 3 p.m.

Swine judging was expected to begin at 7 p.m.

The carnival will also open Thursday night with armbands available for $20 at the gate. The carnival will open at 5 p.m. Friday, noon Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.

On Friday, homemaking division exhibits will open at 9 a.m. Also at 9 a.m. will be a slack rodeo event featuring world champion cowboy Trevor Brazile.

The lamb judging will also start at 9 a.m. and be followed by the pee wee goat judging at 10 a.m. and goat judging at 10:30 a.m. Commercial heifer awards will be announced at 1 p.m. and breeding cattle judging will start at 1:30 p.m.

At 4 p.m. Friday, ag mechanics judging will be held and be followed by the commercial heifer auction at 5 p.m.

The PRCA rodeo will begin Friday at 7:30 p.m. The Scott Taylor Band will provide dance music from 8:30 p.m. to midnight at the Goliad Memorial Auditorium.

The Goliad County Chamber of Commerce parade will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Live music will be performed by Vicki Cross and Jay Harvey at the barbecue area at the fairgrounds from noon to 1:30 p.m.

An antique farm equipment show will be held Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. The animal auction and blue ribbon food auction will start at 1:30 p.m.

Saturday's PRCA rodeo will start at 7:30 p.m. and a dance with musician Jarrod Birmingham will be from 9 a.m. to 1 a.m.
