Juan Morales, 54, an FCI-TR inmate, reportedly walked away from the minimum security prison camp on Saturday, March 28, said Shannon Phelps, public information officer at FCI-TR. It was discovered he was missing Saturday morning, federal prison officials said.

Morales is a Hispanic male with black hair and brown eyes. He is 6’ 2” tall and weighs 225 pounds. He is a native of Brownsville, federal prison officials said. “Inmate Morales is serving a 240-month sentence for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 5 kilograms or more of cocaine and 100 kilograms or more of marijuana, and engaging in monetary transactions in property derived from unlawful activity. He arrived at the Three Rivers minimum security prison camp on Jan. 20, 2009. His projected release date is June 11, 2018,” Phelps said.

The FBI and local law enforcement agencies were notified and an investigation is ongoing, prison officials said. Persons with information that may lead to an arrest should contact the FBI at 713-693-5000 or the warden of the Federal Correctional Institution-Three Rivers at 361-786-3576.
