Three Rivers Nursing Home won first place in the commercial division followed by Miss Ann’s Kinder Care in second place. Third place went to the Hermann Sons float.
First place in the non-commercial division was captured by the Miss Live Oak County float while Brush Country Cattle Women won second place. The Live Oak County Boys and Girls Club were awarded the third place rosette.
The Three Rivers and George West High School bands were combined so there was no trophy for the best band.
Best decorated vehicle was awarded to Three Rivers Middle School Cheerleaders. The Pawnee Post Office won second place in the division followed by Unify to Beautify.
Judges were Carolyn McDonald, Executive Director of the Kenedy Chamber of Commerce; Richard Bullock, Vice President of the Coastal Bend Council of Governments and Travis Tindoll III of Beeville.
“We had a great parade with about 70 entries and a huge crowd,” Grubbs said. “We look forward to having an even better one when the parade returns to Three Rivers in 2011.”
