Editor:

Bee County Crime Stoppers’ board of directors would like to express its sincere appreciation for the support Crime Stoppers has received from several leaders in our community in the past few months. We want to thank Police Chief Joe Treviño and Sheriff Carlos Carrizales Jr. for sponsoring the stick calendars advertising our tipline. We handed out 300 calendars at the beginning the year.

We also would like to thank Congressman Rubén Hinojosa for making a $5,000 grant available to us to be used to advertise our community and Safe School programs. We are grateful for his support.

We want to thank H-E-B for sponsoring the large yellow signs advertising our tipline. You can find them around the city and county. Frank Montez, a board member, had the signs mounted throughout the county and got other sponsors for additional signs. Frank is also responsible for the Safe School signs at some of our county schools.

We also recently received $1,000 for reward money from District Attorney Martha Warner and would like to thank her for her support. We will use the funds for reward money for our Safe School program. We also would like to express our appreciation to Clyde Semar and Gary Kent of the Beeville Bee-Picayune. Clyde worked closely with us on several projects and Gary has written numerous articles about our program.

Crime Stoppers programs work with the community, law enforcement and the media to help solve community crimes while offering anonymous cash rewards for information. Without community support, we could not be a success. Thank you to everyone mentioned in this letter, and all of you not mentioned for supporting Crime Stoppers.

Remember to contact us with an anonymous tip for a cash reward, you can call 362-0206; give a tip on our webpage, www.bccs.crimestoppersweb.com, or text TIP555-your tip-send to CRIMES (274637).

President, Bee County Crime Stoppers
