It was a 1-1 game after one inning. The Trojans got their run as Brody Benavides reached on an error to begin the bottom of the first. Roland Salazar laid down a perfect sacrifice bunt to move the runner up and into scoring position. Jared Carrillo singled to move Benavides to third. A walk to Johnny Hernandez loaded the bases for Genaro Trevino. Trevino connected for a double but only one run scored as the third out was cut down on the base paths to end the rally.
Alice scored two runs in the third and another single run in the fourth to take a 4-1 lead into the fifth inning. Neither team scored in the fifth but the visitors took advantage of five hits and a couple of Trojan errors in the sixth to plate seven runs and break the game wide open.
The Coyotes were in front 11-1 when the Trojans scored in the home half of the sixth with Carrillo coming across the plate after reaching on a walk. Kyle Wright got the RBI single in the sixth.
Alice added two more runs in the top of the seventh to secure the 13-2 victory.
The JV boys were in Pleasanton on Thursday night and will host Moody on Monday with the first game beginning at 5:30 p.m.
