Debra Bolcik announced she is running for Woodsboro City Council, place 2. This week she released the following statement:

“I am seeking re-election for Woodsboro City Council, place 2.

“I am a person that will listen to the concerns of all the citizens of Woodsboro. I will base decisions on what is right for citizens and the future of our city.

“I am 52 years old and have been a resident of Woodsboro for 25 years. I am the owner of Modern Salon here in Woodsboro and have been in the same location for the last 24 years.

“I currently am and have been the president for the Woodsboro Little League for a total of 10 years. I strongly support the youth in our community and strive to give them a positive outlook for their future.

“I graduated from El Campo High School in 1975 and pursued my career as a beautician. I have also earned an Associate Degree in Arts and am currently pursuing my bachelor’s degree.

“I am married to Robert Bolcik and we have three children, all which have graduated from Woodsboro. They are all happily married and have given us seven wonderful grandchildren. Robert and I are members of St. Theresa Catholic Church here in Woodsboro.

“As your councilman I will make the best possible decisions for you, based on the knowledge at hand and what will be best for Woodsboro. We have made progress in replacing older water and sewer lines, built a new water storage tank. And are in the process of obtaining and putting in place a filter system for the city water.

“My goal is to improve the drainage, repair or redo our streets, all these go hand-in-hand to rebuild the ailing infrastructure of our city. These things cannot get done overnight, but with time and patience the solution is in sight.

“I can help bring about the improvements and solutions that are needed for you and the city. I will work hard for all the citizens of Woodsboro.

I respectively ask for your support and vote on May 9. Thank you. Early voting is April 27 through May 5, at the Refugio County Elections Office.

So when will the water be drinkable and meet state health standards?
