Brush Management Field Day set for Live Oak area landowners

Livestock producers and landowners interested in chemical brush management will have an opportunity to participate in a special a Brush Management Field Day.

The field day is scheduled for Wednesday, April 29 at the San Miguel Ranch located in Tilden.

Registration will begin at 9 a.m. and take place at the ranch site. The San Miguel Ranch is located 7 miles east of Hwy 16 on F.M. Road 3445; F.M. 3445 is located approximately 2 miles north of Tilden.

Topics to be addressed at the field day include: Chemical Brush Management led by Jason Hohlt, NRCS Range Specialist; Chemical Brush Management and Wildlife will be discussed by Jim Mutz, H.B Zachary Ranch Manager and Herbicides available for Brush Control, will be led by Bennie Martinez, Dow AgroSciences.

Cost Share Programs Available for Brush Management led by Robert Gibbens, NRCS, District Conservations; Brush Sculpting and Aerial Application presented by Ed Shores & Associates and Discussion of 2008 Test Plots will be led by Isaac Cavazos, County Extension Agent – McMullen County.

Lunch will be served at the Tilden Lions Club which is being sponsored by Helena Chemical Company.
