A unique opportunity has come to the Bee County Habitat for Humanity affiliate as a follow-up to its successful recent barbecue chicken fundraiser. That project brought in more than $5,000 for the group’s first house build, possibly in 2014.

Pastor Don Taylor, a Bee HFH officer, said, “A friend of mine has offered a challenge as a matching gift for our affiliate to help our house build fund. He is willing to match the first $5,000 for all funds raised by our affiliate between now and Dec. 20.

“The donations can come from our regular church contributors; from church freewill offerings; from individual donors; from organizations, businesses and corporations.”

He asked for Habitat members to help in spreading the word about this challenge in their churches and among their friends.

Checks should be made to Bee County Habitat for Humanity. Donations can be sent to BCHFH’s P.O. Box 4333, Beeville, TX 78104, or given to Taylor. Any and all gifts are welcome and documentation for gifts over $250 will be provided by the organization for donor’s tax records.
