BEEVILLE – First United Methodist Church of Beeville is preparing to host some special activities and new Holy Week services.

Tenor Albert Garcia, a friend and former early service music leader, will be featured in a benefit recital on Friday, April 4, starting at 6 p.m. in the church sanctuary, 106 E. Cleveland St. He will be accompanied at the concert by Cynthia Wilson on piano.

On April 13, Palm Sunday, a Messiah in the Passover demonstration will be presented at the one Sunday service at 10:30 a.m.

Pastor Larry McRorey said, “The Messiah in the Passover presentation is a powerful visual message not only of Israel’s freedom from slavery in Egypt, but of the redemption of individuals from the bondage of sin through the atoning work of Jesus. The program is designed to give participants a deeper understanding both of Passover and of the Communion Table.”

Then on Easter Sunday, April 20, a sunrise service will be held at 7 a.m., followed by breakfast at 9 a.m. and morning worship service at 10:30 a.m.

Also, small groups and Easter egg hunts will be held from 9:30 to 10:30.

McRorey encourages the community to come attend any of these upcoming worship opportunities at FUMC.
