The South Texas Brigade is proud to announce that the paperwork on the establishment of the Colonel Santos Benavides Camp, located in Beeville, will be sent forth this week for approval.

At the direction of Commander Donald Lawrence of the South Texas Brigade, a meeting was held at Norma’s Bar-B-Que restaurant. The meeting had an educational program on the Confederate soldier, presented by Bubba Cheek and Mike Reynolds of the 6th Texas company K Reenactment Group.

The business meeting was conducted to complete the forms and process of electing officers and naming the new camp.

A careful reading of the sample constitution and bylaws was performed, and the acting Adjutant Eligio M. Rodriguez made the modifications and additions to the “fill in the blanks” to establish the camp’s wishes to said document.
