The Rotary International Club of Beeville welcomed the following guest speakers during the month of April:

Jack Seals spoke on the Polio Plus Program sponsored by Rotary International with a matching grant from Bill Gates; Joyce Lee discussed PETS (President-Elect Training Service) with this year’s theme of “Rotary Is In Your Hands”; Boyd Bauer confirmed that the club’s Rotary exchange student, Juliet Manaud from France, will arrive in August; John Brockman gave a presentation on the Amtrak train trip from California to Salt Lake City, Utah; Bauer enlightened the club on the MVPA (Military Vehicle Preservation Association); and Lt. Col. James Lovely informed the group of the ROTC program at A.C. Jones High School with emphasis on leadership and citizenship.

Guests during the month were April Quintana, Molly Hennies, Dr. O.B. Vaughan, Katie Bauer, Patty Dobson, Robert Holder and Tim Skaife, CBC radiology director.

The Rotary-Rider Golf Tournament, held April 18, was a success. Proceeds will support scholarships for the prospective senior high school students of Bee County and the South Texas Children’s Home Ministry. Wayland Ford was inducted as a new Rotary member. The club meets at noon on Wednesdays at the Beeville Country Club.
