GOLIAD – Gilbert Lawrence Wagner, 92, of Goliad died Aug. 19, 2014 in Victoria.

He was born in Yorktown on March 20, 1922 to Emil and Anna Rohan Wagner.

Gilbert was a veteran of World War II and served in the United States Army. He was a Catholic.

Gilbert is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, FlorIne Willms Wagner; second wife, Helen Cobb Wagner; two brothers; and two sisters.

He is survived by daughters, Kathy (Ed) Zaitz, Marilyn (Gary) Moreland, Becky (Tookie) Ramsey; sons, Edward and Joseph (Rhonda) Wagner; sisters, Leana (Walter) Berckenhoff, Anna Mae Ryan, Doris Boldt; brothers, Al (Myrlin) Wagner; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-Grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be "Round Table Group" at Goliad Dairy Queen.

A visitation will be held Aug. 21 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Goliad Funeral Home of Goliad with a rosary at 6 pm.

Funeral mass will be held on Aug. 22 at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Goliad with Father Ralph Baidoo officiating.

Burial will follow at 2 p.m. with military honors at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery in Port Lavaca.

Memorials may be made to Goliad Senior Citizens Center or donors choice.
