GOLIAD COUNTY – Goliad County firefighters are trying to contain a grass fire near the intersection of U.S. Highway 183 and Farm-to-Market Road 622.

At approximately 1:20 p.m., firefighters from Goliad, Schroeder and Ander-Weser were called to fire that was started when a truck hauling a trailer had a blowout.

The trailer dragged the pavement, causing sparks which ignited the fire.
