VICTORIA – The Goliad Tigerettes took third place at the Victoria ISD Volleyball Tournament on Friday and Saturday.

The Tigerettes lost 25-17, 25-21 to Victoria West in pool play Friday before beating the Victoria East JV 25-9, 25-11 and Karnes City 25-9, 25-14 and tying San Antonio Taft 25-17, 17-25.

In Saturday’s bracket play, Goliad downed Waelder 25-4, 25-7, lost to West 25-19, 16-25, 18-25 and defeated San Antonio Stevens 25-20, 25-22 in the third-place match.

The Tigerettes were led by Roxanne Morris, who had 52 kills, 39 assists, 25 digs, four service aces and four blocks in the tournament.

Also leading Goliad was Megan Hilscher (25 kills, 41 digs, six service aces), Bailey Janssen (16 kills, 40 digs, two service aces, five blocks), Bethany Salziger (eight kills, 39 digs, four service aces), Kendall Coles (77 assists, 32 digs, five service aces), Michala Janssen (40 digs, two service aces), Kristie Coles (32 digs, four service aces) and Katy Salziger (five blocks).

The Tigerettes hosted Sinton on Tuesday and will host the Goliad Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
