BEEVILLE – Beeville snapped its 10-game losing streak, beating Kingsville in overtime at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Friday night.
Chase Ellerbee kicked a 23-yard field goal on Beeville's possession in the first overtime to clinch the victory. Matthew Botello blocked Kingsville's 32-yard attempt during the Brahmas' possession to set up the winning possession.
The Trojans fell behind 21-7 with 3:52 left in the third quarter, but responded with a pair of Robert Rodriguez touchdown runs to tie the game at 21.
With 1:59 left in the fourth, Ellerbee missed a 32-yard field goal wide right, but the Trojan defense held to send the game into overtime.
On Kingsville's OT possession, the Brahmas moved the ball down to the Trojan 10, but a missed field goal ended the threat.
Ellerbee made up for his miss at the end of the regulation on the Trojans' OT possession, setting off a wild celebration on the Trojan sideline.
It was Beeville's first win since Nov. 9, 2012.

CORPUS CHRISTI – Skidmore-Tynan won for the first time under coach John Livas, blanking John Paul II at Centurions Stadium on Friday.
S-T led 7-0 after one, but broke the game open in the middle two quarters by running off 34 unanswered points.
The Bobcats snapped a 12-game skid with the victory. They last won Oct. 25, 2012, against Santa Gertrudis Academy.

KINGSVILLE – Pettus dropped its opener on Friday night, falling on the road to Santa Gertrudis Academy at Javelina Stadium.
Academy took a 19-0 lead just 22 seconds into the second quarter on a punt return touchdown and led 27-0 by halftime.
