KINGSVILLE – The Beeville junior varsity team opened its season on Thursday with a 41-8 loss to Kingsville.

“Offensively, we are working on executing plays,” said coach Alan Burkett. “Defensively, we were all in the correct spot—just got to work on becoming better tacklers.

“We are working on what needs to be fixed during practice by watching film as we get ready to face Ingleside.”

Steven Barrera accounted for all of the Trojans’ points, returning a kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown and running in the two-point conversion.

The Brahmas led 21-8 at the half and 35-8 after three quarters en route to the win.
