Third-grade teacher Donna Setterbo, said, “The TAKS scores are a cumulative result of years of hard work and reflect a team commitment to academic success.”
“Wow, I am so proud of our students,” said fourth-grade teacher Lavenia Diaz.
Diaz also acknowledged that her children’s success was a result of team work. Diaz has had perfect scores for four years.
Fifth-grade teacher Danna Brandt, who has been improving science scores each year, is proud of her students.
“Success is sweet after a long, hard year of educational growth,” she remarked.
She also recognized her children’s parents for their loyal support.
Fourth-year teacher, Kathy Gyllenband, who teaches sixth grade, is happy with her 100 percent pass rate.
“This year I learned that when my students say ‘I can do it,’ I need to trust them,” she said.
“The kids have bought into the notion that not only can they pass the TAKS tests, but with a bit more effort, their scores can be commendable,” said Principal Stephen Maldonado.
“Inspiring children to reach their maximum potential is what this business is all about,” he added. “The faculty and staff of Austwell-Tivoli Elementary are an exemplary team.”
