• May 22 at 1:23 p.m. Patrolman Luis De Los Santos was dispatched to Shorty’s restaurant to meet with a 61-year-old auto burglary victim.

The woman told the officer that she had parked her 1999 Ford Expedition in the lot and when she returned she found a $95 DVD player and a movie disc missing from the back seat area.

She estimated her loss at $110.

• May 24 at 4:11 a.m. Patrolman Jonell Cisneros spoke to a 41-year-old man who said someone had stolen a 32-inch television from his residence in the 500 block of South Adams Street.

The man said he had been in the back yard with a friend and had gone straight to bed without checking on the television. When his wife returned home at 4 a.m., she noticed the television was missing.

The victim said the set was worth $899.

• May 24 at 2:07 p.m. employees of the H-E-B pharmacy at 100 E. Houston St. called officers to the store in reference to a woman with a forged prescription.

Patrolman Victor Gonzales arrived and made contact with the 24-year-old woman. She claimed that she had gotten a prescription for Lortab from a local doctor but when the officer checked with the physician he said he had not written the prescription.

The officer checked for warrants on the suspect and eventually took her into custody for failing to pay a fine on a charge of failing to maintain financial responsibility. She also was charged with forgery and altering a prescription.

• May 25 at 8:57 a.m. Patrolman Mark Cruz was dispatched to the 2200 block of North Adams Street after a resident there called to report a vandalism incident.

A 41-year-old woman told the officer that someone had punctured three tires on her 2002 Dodge Ram and had scratched the paint on the side of the vehicle. She estimated that it would cost her $1,200 to have the damage repaired.

• May 25 at 9:04 a.m. the principal at the FMC Elementary School, 100 T.J. Pfeil St., reported that employees there had found some vandalism on campus.

Sgt. Chris Vasquez arrived at the scene and was shown where someone had used a permanent market to write obscenities on a bench in front of the building.

• May 25 at 3:03 p.m. Patrolman Peter Silvas met with a 47-year-old woman who said someone scratched the paint on her 2006 Dodge Durango. The woman said the vehicle was parked in the 1500 block of East Bowie Street when someone gouged an eight-inch scar in the paint. She estimated it would cost her $250 to have the damage repaired.

• May 25 at 10:03 p.m. Sgt. Roland Rodriguez was sent to the 1100 block of North Archer Street after a resident there returned home to find her front door open and some items missing from inside. The woman said someone took two 32-inch televisions, one from the living room and one from a bedroom. The said the televisions were worth a total of $1,512.

• May 26 at 9:05 a.m. Patrolman Gonzales spoke to a 60-year-old man who said he had parked his 1999 Ford Ranger pickup in the lot at Taqueria Chapala, 1805 N. St. Mary’s St.

When he returned to the vehicle, he noticed someone had stolen his $200 air compressor.

• May 26 at 4:27 p.m. Silvas reported to police headquarters to speak to a 44-year-old man who said someone had stolen his $350 Panasonic digital camera.

The victim said he and his family had eaten at Taqueria Jalisco, 2006 N. St. Mary’s St., and he apparently left the camera on the table. The camera was gone when he returned to see if anyone had found it.

• May 26 at 4:44 p.m. Silvas took a report from a 29-year-old woman in 4200 block of North St. Mary’s Street who said someone had broken into her home. Silvas said the burglar apparently entered the house through a kitchen window and then took jewelry, an MP3 player, 13 X-Box games, hair clippers and some makeup.

The woman said the stolen items were worth about $1,566.

• May 26 at 7:09 p.m. Sgt. Stephen Phipps responded to a call about a man who had stabbed a dog in the Kohler Park area. The officer arrived and was directed to the suspect, a 42-year-old, who admitted he had stabbed a dog which appeared to be attacking him. The man handed Phipps the knife he used. The officer then spoke to residents in the area who said the dog the man stabbed had been in the neighborhood for some time and was always friendly and wanting to play. They said it appeared the animal wanted to play with a dog the man had with him when he pulled a knife and stabbed it. Phipps found the dog a short distance away, dead.

He turned the information over to detectives for investigation.

• May 26 at 9:59 p.m. Vasquez was dispatched to a car wash in the 1000 block of North Washington Street after a workman there reported a theft.

The man said he had been doing some work on one of the washing bays and when he finished he found that someone had taken his $90 aluminum ladder.

• May 27 at 11:09 p.m. Patrolman Cisneros was sent to the H-E-B Food Store, 100 E. Houston St., after employees there called to report a woman who had fallen and could not get back on her feet.

When the officer arrived, he found a 35-year-old woman on the floor who had a strong odor of alcohol on her breath and who was claiming she had been raped.

The woman said she had been at the nearby Windsong Apartments, 210 E. Crockett St., with two men who attacked her.

She said she ran to the supermarket when she was able to get away from her assailants.

The woman was taken by ambulance to Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville where she was treated and examined for evidence of a sexual assault.
