The club welcomed the following guest speakers during May:
Steve Clegg, director of the Joe Barnhart Bee County Library; Tom Beasley with the Chamber of Commerce and Chase Field Industrial Park; Marlo Sandoval, Wesley Nurse for the Methodist Healthcare Ministries that provide health and social services to the community; Bill Davis enlightened the group on the assassination and burial of President Abraham Lincoln, with photos of the 13 funerals that were held for Lincoln; John Galloway explained how funeral directors were the first ambulance providers. He presented photos of how the vehicles evolved and shared stories of the services provided in Bee County until 1966.
The Rotary banquet and installation of new officers for 2009 will be held June 26 at 6:30 p.m. at the Country Club.
Rotary visitors for the month were Laura Fischer, Joe Montez, director of the Bee Development Authority, Gene Gonzales, April Quintana and Molly Hennies, Rotary foreign exchange student from Germany.
