The Program Director was Sue Nance. Instead of a live speaker the presentation was a video by Van Scott title “Many Faces of Old Glory - The Concert.”
This video is one to remember. . .not necessarily for the specifics but for the true meaning of what it represents. This is a very interesting and educational video. . .reminiscent of some of the teachings we’ve had in years past. Mr. Scott adds a considerable amount of lighthearted modern humor to his story but it also has a very touching side as well. As stated by the author, “You will remember it the rest of your life.” Mr. Scott is cofounder of Colonial Flag Company, a division of the largest flag company in the world. He has made flags that opened the World Olympic Games, the NFL Super Bowls, presidential inaugurations, and those that fly over the Capitol of the United States. Her served in combat in the South Pacific aboard the USS Radford DD446, one of America’s most decorated destroyers. He is a Life Member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans and Amvets. Additionly, he is a life associate member of the Vietnam Veterans of America and the Korean War Veterans. He has appeared many times on television and radio promoting patriotism.
Our hostesses for the meeting were Mrs. Mozelle Ploch and Mrs. Lois Matkin. They served very delicious cookies and punch.
