She was a single mother to her daughter, Cheryl Sauve. A self-taught accountant, she started bookkeeping in the 1950s with the old Dallas Burnett Field Baseball team. Her residence was in Beeville until 2005, at which time she moved to Valley Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Camden, Ark., to be near her daughter and only survivor.
