Editor:

Instead of “rambling” for four columns (in Saturday’s letter to the editor), Ms. (Debra) Chapa could have summed up her views as follows: Bush-Bad; Obama-Good; Fox News-Bad; Disagree with Obama-Racist.

I respect the office of president and I admire Mr. Obama’s ability to speak utter nonsense and make it sound not only plausible, but inspiring. I disagree with almost all of his views and policies and it has nothing to do with his race. I disagree that America is arrogant. I disagree that America is not a Christian nation and that radical Islam is our friend. I disagree with his world tour to criticize and apologize for America. I do not agree that a tax cheat should become the secretary of the Treasury. I disagree with his breaking the law by firing Inspector General Gerald Walpin, who was investigating Obama’s friend, the mayor of Sacramento. I disagree with his turning America into a socialist country by nationalizing industry and health care. I disagree with his Marxist concept of redistributing wealth. I disagree with his picking winners and losers in the marketplace.

In answer to Ms. Chapa’s claim that I do not read, let me recommend some good reading material, which I have actually read: Glenn Beck’s “Common Sense”; “Liberty and Tyranny” by Mark Levin; “Liberal Fascism” by Jonah Goldberg; “Animal Farm” by George Orwell; “The 5000 Year Leap”; and last, but not least, the Holy Bible and the Constitution. Also a good Web site is www.congress.org to view current bills and how Congress voted.

Ms. Chapa, I welcome your comments on this letter, but, please, no name calling.

Bettye Sevier
