As a public service, the Bee-Picayune is repeating our editorial endorsements in the Nov. 4 general election.

For the contested races on the county ballot, they include:

U.S. Senator — John Cornyn

U.S. Representative, District 15 — Eddie Zamora

Railroad Commissioner — Michael L. Williams

Chief Justice, Supreme Court — Wallace B. Jefferson

Justice, Supreme Court, Place 7 — Dale Wainwright

Justice, Supreme Court, Place 8 — Phil Johnson

Judge, Court of Criminal Appeals, Place 3 — Tom Price

Judge, Court of Criminal Appeals, Place 4 — no endorsement

Judge, Court of Criminal Appeals, Place 9 — Cathy Cochran

State Senator, District 21 — Judith Zaffirini

Justice, 13th Court of Appeals District, Place 6 — Caroline Bertuzzi

Tax Assessor-Collector — Linda G. Bridge

County Commissioner, Precinct 3 — Andrea Gibbud or Eloy Rodriguez

In the City of Beeville election, on the city’s proposal to use a portion of the 4B sales tax for infrastructure, we recommend a vote Against. That money should be used for its intended purpose: economic development.

In the Beeville, Pettus and Skidmore-Tynan ISD elections, we encourage those residents to decide the outcomes of their board of trustees races and whether to increase the tax rate.

If you have not voted early, please make the effort to go and vote Tuesday at the many different polling places around the county.
