Police made contact with the 5-foot, 8-inch, 230-pound victim at the emergency room at Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville after a nurse called to report that a man was there with a stab wound.
Patrolman Jonell Cisneros arrived at the hospital shortly after receiving the call at 11:06 p.m. The victim explained that he had driven to Valero convenience store at 601 S. Washington St. and had parked his Pontiac G6 near the air pumps.
The man said he noticed several men standing outside the store arguing before he got out of his vehicle and walked toward the store. As he walked past the men in the parking lot, one of them bumped into him and the victim said he turned and “dropped him to the ground.”
In the process, the victim fell also and when he hit the ground he felt a pain in his chest.
The victim said he got up, walked back to his car, got behind the wheel and then felt that his shirt was wet.
He checked to see where the blood was coming from and found what appeared to be a knife wound in his right chest area.
The man then drove home and his mother then took him to CSHB for treatment at the emergency room.
Cisneros said he called Detective Chris Bernal to the scene to continue an investigation and Sgt. Stephen Phipps took photos of the wound.
The victim said he did not know the man who stabbed him but he described him as being Hispanic, about six feet tall, with a medium build and possibly bald.
