To the Chamber of Commerce members who do not believe Beeville public schools have done a good enough job educating children, they should try to advise the district on how to fix the problem instead of chastising all teachers and employees.
The Chamber leaders should look at what they have not done in the community. I drove into the Texas Information Center, coming from Louisiana on IH-10, and their 3”x5” card only said visit Bee County where you will have a great time, but it did not say where.
BISD has done a good job with the resources they have. If the chamber’s directors would encourage parents to participate with the education of their children, they would not have to have special programs or assistance.
I have no children in BISD, but I am willing to pay my taxes to see the future astronaut, doctor, lawyer, architect or even publicist, who can help the chamber spread the word about how great Bee County is.
I say this only because my wife and I are proud parents of five children who were in public schools with good teachers and universities with great professors. Our children are (employed as) DOE-NSA, USDA county executive director, U.S. Federal Court, NASA safety engineer and, my pride and joy, Houston ISD chemistry teacher, who graduated from BISD.
So to all parents of students, and resident voters, please vote for the 6-cent increase so they can better the education of our children’s future and county as a whole.
