The ‘Friends’ sold breakfast tacos, juice and coffee as a fundraiser and were able to raise $101! One hundred two people came in for vaccinations. In addition, blood pressure and glucose tests were performed.
Another fund-raiser was held on Saturday, Oct. 18 at the SSVFD Catfish Fry dinner. The Friends, with a total of $164, sold homemade baked goods passed on to the fire department.
The next meeting for the Friends of the SSVFD is to be held on November 5, Wednesday from 6:30 p.m. -7:30 p.m. at the Swinney Switch Center, Live Oak County annex. Hope to see you there!
On Saturday, Nov. 15, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., the Friends of the SSVFD will hold a Chili Supper, which includes cornbread, dessert and beverage. This will be at the Swinney Switch Center, Live Oak County Annex, 904 FM 3024, Exit 47 off I37 North from Corpus Christi. Proceeds of this first annual event will go to the needs of the SSVFD. Plates will be $7 per person, and tickets can either be purchased at the door or from one of the Friends of the SSVFD members.
