If convicted on a state jail felony charge, a defendant could be sentenced to up to two years in state jail facility and fined as much as $10,000.
Grand jury indictments do not indicate guilt or innocence. Grand jurors only determine whether or not prosecutors have sufficient evidence in a criminal case to warrant a trial on a charge.
Those indicted included:
•Daniel Villarreal on a charge of evading arrest with a motor vehicle.
Beeville Police Department investigators alleged that Villarreal used a vehicle to flee from Patrolman Art Gamez on June 21.
A $1,500 bond was set by District Judge Janna Whatley.
•Phillip Brandon Salge on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, cocaine, less than one gram.
Bee County Sheriff’s Office deputies filed the charge in connection with an April 10 arrest.
Bond was $500.
•Liza Marie Garcia on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, cocaine, less than one gram.
Investigators alleged that the drug was in the defendant’s possession on June 5.
Bond was $1,500.
•Frank Barcenas on a charge cattle theft.
According to state investigators, Barcenas took seven head of cattle worth between $1,500 and $20,000 from a local man on June 19.
Bond was $5,000.
•Mona Lisa Perez on a charge of possession of marijuana, four ounces to five pounds.
Deputies filed the charge in connection with a May 13 incident.
Bond was $2,000.
•Ryan Andrew Oden on a charge of possession of marijuana, four ounces to five pounds.
Deputies alleged that Oden had the drug on May 2.
Bond was $3,000.
•Joshua Scott Cummings on a charge of possession of marijuana, four ounces to five pounds.
County investigators accused the defendant of having the drug on May 13.
Bond was $2,000.
•Juan A. Briones on two counts of driving while intoxicated with a passenger under the age of 15 in the vehicle.
Highway Patrol Trooper Shawn Stephenson arrested the defendant on that charge on June 13.
Bond was $1,500.
