Guest speakers for the month of October were Kelly McNeese, Rotary public relations; Starr Bauer, assistant district governor of Rotary; District Governor James E. Montgomery and wife Linda of San Antonio; and Quentin S. Masters, Coastal Bend executive director of the American Red Cross.
Guests during the month were Patricia Dobson of Coastal Bend Medical Equipment; Sergio Comero, district manager for Greyhound Bus Lines; Velma Elizonde, secretary of the BISD board; and Malika Hennies, Rotary exchange student from Germany.
Rotary members volunteered for food bank distribution at the First Baptist Church and the First United Methodist Church. The club also sponsored the Miss Western Week Pageant with Leticia Muñoz as chairwoman and Brenda Treviño as co-chairwoman. Proceeds from the event support the Beeville Rotary Scholarship Fund. The next scholarship fundraiser will be the Rotary-Ryder Golf Tournament.
Molly Young, of Beeville Downtown Development, was installed as a new member by the district governor, and Steve Clegg and Cindy Ray were welcomed back to the club.
