Clubs plan activities for National 4-H Week, Oct-5-9

Blanconia 4-H Club

Blanconia 4-H Club installed its 2010 officers at the Sept. 8 meeting.

New officers are Brooke Williams, president; Lacie Beall, vice-president; Courtney Myers, secretary; -Morgan Klaevemann, treasurer; Anthony McGuill, reporter; and Summer Hesseltine council delegate.

The club discussed the Relay for Life booth; however, a decision was not made. National 4-H Week is Oct. 5-9. Each member will bake and deliver baked goods to supporters of the 4-H program, and 4-H flyers will be displayed at all members schools. All members areencouraged to wear their 4-H t-shirts to school that week.

The following announcements were made: Major show swine orders are due Sept. 21; major show broiler orders are due Sept. 30; and turkey pick up is Oct. 20 from 3-5 p.m.; and 4-H enrollment must be completed by Sept. 30 on 4-H Connect.

Adults are reminded about the 4-H Booster Club meeting on Oct. 6.

Bonnie View 4-H Club

Bonnieview 4-H had itsfirst meeting for the new year on Sept. 13.

Members signed up to take baked goods to community businesses during National 4-H Week Oct. 5-9, to those that support the livestock show.

A coat drive will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 7. Members will meet at Woodsboro High School at 5 p.m. to drop off any gently used coats.

The 4-H Fun Day that had been planned for that day has been cancelled.

Cookie decorating will take place at the October meeting.
