Three Rivers city officials adopted a new budget and voted to increase the tax rate to $0.32321 per $100 property valuation, which is effectively a 4.2 percent increase, during a special City Council meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 23. The tax increase will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations.

Upon the recommendation of city employees Ismael Chapa and Rocky Mendez, the advertised position of operator/maintenance (CCN) will be extended to Roland Salazar.

During the regular meeting of Sept. 14, aldermen approved repairs and upgrades at the Woodward well for a total of $9,197.

A mobile home permit at 207 W. Martin St., as described in Abstract 33 Wm. O’Docharty, .33 acre, 2.50 acres, 3.50 acres was approved contingent upon examination of a photograph and other information on the double wide (i.e., year, make, model, sq. ft., etc.)

City officials approved an inter-local agreement between the Live Oak County Emergency Services District #1 and the City of Three Rivers for 24-hour use of a place of shelter at the Three Rivers Volunteer Fire Department Station.

In other city news, aldermen voted to reimburse city employees for fees incurred while renewing their CDL license.

Lastly, the agenda item regarding water and gas deposits as per city policy and procedures was tabled.
