State Trooper Williams of Rockport reported the driver of the 2000 Ford Explorer was headed west when he left the roadway on the right side of the highway. He overcorrected, went into a side-ways skid and rolled several times. Carter was ejected and died of injuries at the scene of the accident.
Justice of the Peace Lorraine Lopez pronounced the victim dead.
The trooper reported alcohol was a factor in the accident.
