Felix Herman Vander Stucken, 90, a resident of Fredericksburg, Texas passed away in Portland, Texas, Sunday, September 27th, 2009. Born May 1, 1919 in Fredericksburg to Eugene and Ella Ochs Vender Stucken. He attended First Christian Church in Fredericksburg; Felix was Master Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corp. and was a WWII Veteran. Married Allie Louise Byrd and raised his family in Beeville, TX where he was a rancher and retiree of Mobil Oil. He recently relocated to Portland, TX to be closer to family.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Allie Louise in 2003. He is survived by his three children & spouses, Charlotte Ann Vander Stucken Merkel of Beeville, Texas, Carol Elaine & Thomas Goggans of Elkhart, Texas, Eugene F. “Bud” & Anita Vander Stucken of Portland, eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great great child.

Graveside services and Interment will be held on Friday, October 2nd, 2009 at 11:00 A. M. in the Greenwood Cemetery, Fredericksburg, Texas with the Dr. Phil Tilden officiating.

Full Military honors will be accorded at graveside by the United States Marine Corp.

Those who so desire may make memorial contributions in his memory to the First Christian Church, 2042 North Llano St., Fredericksburg, Hill Country Memorial Hospice, or to the charity of their choice.

Visitation for Felix Vander Stucken will begin Thursday afternoon 5 to 7:00 P. M. and Friday morning from 7 to 10:30 A.M. in the Schaetter Funeral Home in Fredericksburg.

Pallbearers will be his grandson and grandsons and grandsons in laws, Matthew Goggans, Clint Adams, Michael Isbel, Bryan Stevenson, Calvin Blaschke, Mark Morris and Mike Young

Honorary pallbearers are Corey Blaschke, Colton Morris, and Charlie Ahlgren.

Felix touched so many lives and brought great joy to all. He will be truly missed. This cowboy has ridden away.
