In addition to arrests, the Sheriff’s office received 162 complaints the week of Sept. 29 through Oct. 5.

An employee of a George West fast food restaurant received a text message that someone was in the bushes.

A George West man reported that there was a man “dressed in camo clothing” looking in the windows of a cafe.

A male caller advised he saw a man walking northbound on U.S. 281 on the westbound side wearing what looked like orange scrubs, possible “jail clothes.”

A TRPD officer advised there was a fight in progress at a location near his home in Three Rivers. He later advised that the fight was no longer physical and was just verbal.

A George West woman reported that she went grocery shopping and left her wallet in the shopping cart. Someone turned her wallet in but her driver’s license was taken out of the wallet.

Females traveling on IH-37 reported they had a flat tire and were in the middle of nowhere. “Just a bunch of girls were in the vehicle and they were scared. They didn’t want to dish out the money for roadside assistance, so they wanted an officer to come shine lights for them while they changed it themselves.” Two deputies assisted the “bunch of girls.”

A 4 year old boy stuck his eye with a screw driver. EMS responded but transportation was not necessary.

A female caller advised that her residence didn’t have any electricity and her ice cream was melting.

An employee of a George West fast food eatery reported that a customer had cussed at a waitress and threw something at her. She also advised they had witnessed the customer hit and slap his girlfriend. The employees know the subject; he is a local resident.

A woman east of Whitsett advised that someone dumped a cage that had three pythons in it on her property. She said two were dead and the buzzards had already carried them off. She advised there was still one that was alive and that she was going to shoot it. She just wanted to let the sheriff’s office know.

A caller advised a couple were fighting at a convenience store. An off duty officer seemed to have it under control but might need assistance. A deputy on the scene advised everything was alright.

Matias Zarate, Jr., 29, of Converse was arrested on Sept. 22 for possession of a controlled substance, pg less than one gram. He was picked up by McMullen County on Sept. 30.

David Gerardo Lopez, 27, of San Antonio was arrested on Sept. 30 for public intoxication. George West Municipal Court Judge Patricia Lanford set bond at $300. He was released for time served per Three Rivers Municipal Court Judge Dawn Benham.

Henry Alaniz, 42, of George West was arrested on Aug. 17 on a bench warrant from San Patricio Co. for parole violation on a charge of burglary of a habitation. He was released on Oct. 2.

Rodolfo Hernandez, Jr., 38, of San Antonio was arrested on Sept. 28 for driving while intoxicated, 3rd or more. Lanford set bond at $8,500.

Edward Garcia, 39, of McAllen was arrested on Sept. 27 on a Hidalgo Co. warrant for criminal non-support. No bond was set and he was released to Hidalgo Co.
