A Swinney Switch female reported the theft of two quarts of oil by two men. They went outside and put the oil in their vehicle. They threw the containers on the grounds and drove off toward the interstate. In the vehicle were two males and one female. She called back to inform that the subjects had stolen five containers - each male took two and the female took one. A responding officer requested that the registered owner of the vehicle be notified. The dispatchers were unable to make contact with him. The subject had produced a bill of sale for the vehicle from two different people. The male, when contacted, said that he never owned the vehicle. He thought his wife might have owned it - or maybe it was his wife’s sister who owned it. He didn’t really know who owned it. The vehicle and subjects were taken back to the store. All were released when the store chose not to file charges. The officer requested that Mathis PD and San Patricio PD be notified that the vehicle was going that way. They should be on the look out for another possible theft.
