Jackie Hughes introduced the speaker, Major Larry Young, with Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, who spoke on “Conserving Our Resources.” Young presented a PowerPoint demonstration about how the law enforcement division works to protect Texas’ wildlife, other natural resources and the environment. He shared many humorous stories about how dumb criminals can really be.
Club members were reminded to check out the decorations downtown and see how great the area looks. Please remember to thank all the participating 4-H clubs who worked on this project.
Margie Awalt announced the Joe Barnhart Bee County Library is having a fundraiser. Raffle tickets are being sold for the winner and a companion to enjoy a weeklong stay at the fabulous Ixtapan Spa and Golf Resort in Mexico. Please see her or ask at the library for tickets.
The Beeville Country Club will be having a Wild Game Dinner of Oct. 28 with silent and live auctions. Call for information and reservations.
New tennis courts are being built at A.C. Jones High School. Beautiful poinsettias will be sold as a fundraiser for much needed bleachers and covers.
