In addition to arrests, the Sheriff’s office received 168 complaint calls the week of Oct. 13-19.
A female caller advised she had left her vehicle on the side of the road near Whitsett because it broke down. She requested that an officer make a report of burglary of vehicle. The vehicle window was broken and some things were stolen, including the radio.
A Three Rivers woman advised that someone stole her chihuahua out of her vehicle while she was in the grocery store.
A Three Rivers woman advised that there had been a small grey vehicle parked on the side of the road for several days. She thought that someone needed to check it out. Last time this happened, someone was dead in their vehicle.
A fisherman reported that an elderly man had passed out at the boat ramp at Calliham. He was not sure what’s wrong with the man. EMS responded and the man was transported to the hospital.
A woman near the lake reported that, when her son pulled up earlier, there was a white vehicle with tinted windows parked on the side of her residence. It pulled away and left. Her son then left for a while and when he returned the vehicle was parked back in the same place. The responding officer was unable to locate the vehicle.
A George West woman advised there was a snake on her back patio that was coiled up and hissing. She doesn’t have a gun or a shovel to kill it. She wanted an officer to come and kill it.
A woman reported that her vehicle was stolen from her apartment in Corpus Christi the night before. A friend was going to San Antonio and called to tell her that she thought she saw the pickup on the side of the road near the north bound rest area. The responding officer was unable to locate the vehicle.
A man near Simmons advised that a big red dog had gotten his newspaper the previous three days and now he was opening the mail box and eating his mail.
A woman near the lake advised that she had been having problems with someone trying to break in her house. She thought they may have tried to do so again but they shot at her house and shot her dog.
A Lagarto woman said they had bought a car, which had no tags or inspection. When she got in the car this morning, she realized someone had tried to break into it. The key hole in the door was all messed up and the gas had been siphoned out.
A George West woman said that a man had driven by her house in a company vehicle and “flipped her husband off.” The man was driving real fast; she thought he was drinking. Before the officer on duty could clear from the call he was on and respond to this call, the woman called back, screaming that they were fighting in the street. She said she had called earlier; no one came and now they are fighting. DPS trooper advised that the caller was upset because no one had responded to earlier call, so she reported that there was a fight to get officers over there faster. There was no fight.
A George West woman stated there was a pickup headed north toward Three Rivers in the south bound lane of U.S. 281. She had to pull over on the shoulder to keep from hitting him.
A Three Rivers man advised that there were two vehicles racing in the cemetery.
Vicente Alberto Garza, 25, of Beeville was arrested on Oct. 2 for injury to a child/elderly/disabled with intent to cause bodily injury. He was transported to TDCJ Garza West on Oct. 19.
Steve Orlando Garcia, 23, of Cotulla was arrested on Oct. 11 for child endangerment. McMullen County Justice of the Peace James Rayes set bond at $10,000.
Kenneth Russell Winn, 34, of Corpus Christi was arrested on Oct. 14 for theft of service, greater than or equal to $20, less than $500. Justice of the Peace, Precinct 1 Elizabeth Ellis set bond at $800. He was released on Oct. 15. after posting bond.
Brandi Nicole Guevara, 27, of Poth was arrested on Oct. 11 on a warrant from Bexar Co. for assault causes bodily injury/family violence. Ellis set bond at $3,500. She was released on Oct. 13 after posting bond.
Juan Carlos Serna, 20, of San Antonio was arrested on Oct. 10 on a warrant from Bexar Co. for theft of service, greater than or equal to $1,500, less than $20k. Rayes set bond at $10,000. He was released on Oct. 12. after posting bond.
Manuel Garcia Lozano, 45, of George West was arrested on Oct. 17 for driving while intoxicated, 3rd offense or more. Justice of the Peace, Precinct 2 Virginia Tanguma set bond at $2,500.
