The class is designed to encourage and develop leadership and communication skills. Newport gave her students a topic to write about: “Something in My School or Community That Needs to Change, and What I’m Going to Do About It.”
The following is one of the students’ articles that deals with the subject of bullies. It is titled: “Bulldogs Against Bullies.”
We think that Live oak County has too much disrespect and bullying going on.
We want to stop it! We want you to do your part in Bulldogs against bullies. Don’t use bad language and respect others.
To help you and your community you need to respect others and they will respect you in return. Don’t bully others because it hurts their feelings. Also, use -G- rated vocabulary because little kids can hear it and start saying bad words. Do what is right!
“As their teacher, I was pleased by their enthusiasm and encouraged that these future leaders are eager to embrace such ambitious projects,” said Newport.
